What’s Happening?

Two of my passions in life are animal welfare and the environment. Most recently I’ve been writing for BlueDot.ca, (an initiative of The David Suzuki Foundation) and my articles are published locally on Metroland Media and now in Toronto.com and The Toronto Star.

My latest article “Light Pollution and Its Negative Impact on the Environment” was inspired by my own experience with the City of Vaughan installing a pedestrian crossover, that not only beeps 24/7 but also resulted in two new street lamps blanketing the area outside my bedroom window! Knowing how dangerous light (and sound) pollution is to humans and all living creatures, I set out to write about it.

Another article is now live on my blog. We all love to look good, but until I did the research for this post, I had no idea how detrimental the fashion industry was for the environment. You can find out all the nitty gritty of what I discovered in “How Looking Good Can be Bad for the Environment”.

If you are like me,  you’re someone who has deep reverence and love for animals. As a passionate elephant lover, I’ve become very conscious of how much cruelty there is on this planet towards animals…both domestic and wild. My latest post “Raising Our Consciousness About Animal Cruelty” started with a simple headline I saw online and had me wanting to explore more. Read more HERE.

As I’ve gotten older, my curiosity and sensitivity to the natural world has continued to deepen. I realized that so many of us do not even stop to be in nature when we have the opportunity to. This prompted me to research the healing benefits of nature and to share my findings in my new Huffington Post piece, Nature Can Heal Humanity.
